John Pedone's first job in film was not behind the camera, but in front of it as an extra in Oliver Stone's "The Doors" and "Point Break". "I loved the entire process immediately and although I had no idea what I wanted to do, I knew it would be in the film industry." Since then, John has had an impressive career over the past twelve years, developing many aspects of filmmaking while working on film sets as a Lighting Technician, a Dimmer Operator, a Gaffer, a Key Grip, a Camera Operator, an Editor, a Cinematographer, and recently a Director. His knowledge and experience make him an invaluable part of any film crew.
John has worked with "Theogony" Director Giovanni Zelko since 1995: "I hired him as a set lighting intern at Roger Corman Studios. The rest is history. Giovanni and I have worked together ever since on movies, T.V., commercials, music videos, and photo shoots. Mostly in L.A. but also in Colorado and Florida. Through all of it, we've had great synergy together. Working on "Theogony" has been a fun and challenging experience. Giovanni knows exactly what he wants as a director, while still giving me the space to accomplish my own goals as a cinematographer. When you collaborate with someone you've worked with and been friends with for ten years, there is an easy, no-nonsense flow of communication. We're not trying to impress one another. For "Theogony," we've had a great time in pre-production planning, on the actual shooting days, and the editing phase as well. Now, all that's left is taking it to the Cannes film festival!"  (next...)
